Eric Marcel Nettleton was a 26-year-old Staff Sergeant from Wichita, Kansas. He served with Company B, 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, a unit based in Vilseck, Germany. According to military records, his service included deployments to Afghanistan, the Philippines, and the Horn of Africa.
Nettleton died on January 5, 2011, at Forward Operating Base Tarin Kowt in Uruzgan province, Afghanistan.
