Major Henry San Nicolas Ofeciar, 37, of Agana, Guam, served with the U.S. Army's 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. He was killed in a hostile incident at Forward Operating Base Naray, Afghanistan, on August 27, 2007.

PFC Wilson, Thomas Randolph, 21, a native of MORGANTOWN, WV, died serving in the Active Duty, ARMY, HHC, 1ST BATTALION, 503D INFANTRY, 173D AIRBORNE BRIGADE, VICENZA, IT, during Operation Enduring Freedom on August 27, 2007. Cause: HOSTILE.

Staff Sergeant Nicholas Ray Carnes, 25, of Dayton, Kentucky, was a U.S. Army soldier serving with Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery. He was killed in a hostile incident in Orgun E, Afghanistan, on August 26, 2007.

At 22, SGT Morley, Joshua Lyle of BOISE, ID was serving with the ARMY, HHC, 2D BATTALION, 505TH INFANTRY, FORT BRAGG, NC, when he died in SAMARRA, IRAQ on August 26, 2007. Cause: HOSTILE.

Master Sergeant Scott Michael Carney, 37, of Des Moines, Iowa, was a soldier with the Iowa Army National Guard. He was killed in action in Herat province, Afghanistan, on August 24, 2007.

Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Edward Miller, 43, of Rossford, Ohio, was killed in action on August 24, 2007, in Herat, Afghanistan, while serving with the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.

SFC Heringes, David Allen, 36, a native of TAMPA, FL, died serving in the Active Duty, ARMY, 82 CS, 1-505 PIR, 3-82 AB (TASK ORG TO 25 ID), during Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 24, 2007. Cause: HOSTILE.
