U.S. Army Sergeant Andrew Harron McConnell, 24, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, died on September 14, 2009, from hostile action at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

1LT Wright, David Timothy Ii, 26, a native of MOORE, OK, died serving in the Active Duty, ARMY, COMPANY B, 2D BATTALION, 1ST INFANTRY, 5TH SBCT, FORT LEWIS, WA, during Operation Enduring Freedom on September 14, 2009. Cause: HOSTILE.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Nekl Bruce Allen, 29, of Rochester, New York, died on September 12, 2009, in the Shah District of Afghanistan's Kunar Province.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Bryan David Berky, 25, of Melrose, Florida, was killed in a hostile incident near Balah Baluq, Afghanistan, on September 12, 2009.

U.S. Army Corporal Daniel Lee Cox, 26, of Parsons, Kansas, was killed in action on September 12, 2009, in the Meydan Shahr District of Afghanistan.

Technical Sergeant James Robert Hornbarger, 33, of Castle Rock, Washington, was a U.S. Air Force aircraft maintainer. He died on September 12, 2009, in Droushia, Cyprus, while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

U.S. Army Sergeant Tyler Austin Juden, 23, of Winfield, Kansas, was killed in a hostile incident in Turan, Farah Province, Afghanistan, on September 12, 2009.
