Overview
It refers to a traditional command-based preparation believed to encourage receptiveness, compliance, and acceptance of one's words or requests. In traditional belief, Mayihun is associated with influence, authority, and the ability to have one's words received favorably and acted upon.
Ingredients & Components
- Gabon Viper Snake Head (Ori Oka)
- Birana Leaves (Ewe Birana)
- One Alligator Pepper Pod (Oko Atare Kan)
Preparation Method
- The snake head, Birana leaves, and one alligator pepper pod are burnt to fine black powder together. Whenever the preparation is to be used, the following incantation is recited:
- Incantation (Ofo)
- "Whatever prey the Gabon viper snake captures remains in the mouth of the snake." Before the powder is now tasted and instruction can then be given to who we want to use it on.
